Normally I would let barking dogs do just that. There is a saying in Malayalam that jealousy and baldness have no cure. I’m not sure if Abhishek Tripathi (abhi at SM) is blad but he seems to have a problem with jealousy.

On the 30th of January this year, I had a “chat” with Anand Jon’s sister Sanjana Jon. Not an interview - a chat. I got in touch with Sanjana through a mutual contact. I don’t know Anand Jon or his family personally but wanted to understand more about what her family is going through. I published the transcript unedited on the same day.

A certain Abhi (IP 65.71.124.237) from Houston posted the third comment. He gave his email as a@hotmale.com and URL as therealmutiny.com

His comment was:

Give me a break. I hope the bum rots in jail.

All very nice. Everybody has a right to an opinion. Even if it doesn’t mean presuming someone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law  - or atleast until the trial begins - but hey - who am I to judge (sic).

Then I was told of this (he initially linked to our old site and then later changed it to the current url) by a fellow mutineer. It was funny - really seemed liked he had lost it.

First he calls Mutiny.in, “The Great Indian Mutiny” - nice - but we are known simply as, “The Mutiny” or “mutiny.in” officially - an honest mistake perhaps since he linked to the old site to start with.

Then he goes on to claim to Mutiny.in (the great Indian Mutiny according to him) is “named after this blog”. Now that’s desperation at it’s heights. He doesn’t care to explain how it is named after “this site” - I don’t think it matters - his motives seems to be to personally attack me. A cowardly ‘hit and run’. And this is not the first time, he has done it about three times in the past.

You will not find any reference or link - positive or negative on the Mutiny to SepiaMutiny. The Mutiny doesn’t say it’s “named” after anybody. I wonder if Abhishek Tripathi considers Sunny Kalara’s Sepoy Mutiny  also “named after his blog”. Perhaps even the Bangalore based band, Mutiny - also the Mutiny Hotel.

The last time I checked - I don’t think “mutiny” name is exclusively owned by anyone. Maybe Abhishek Tripathi is talking about group blogging - perhaps he invented it too. He also invented the term “mutineers” - how cool is that? You never know, maybe he is guy who invented basmati rice as well!

It might be helpful to have a look at Internet Archives site. Have a look who had a “mutineers” page up first. Who had a facebook group up first? Have a look, you will be amazed - I certainly was.

I’m happy the way Mutiny.in has shaped up. Today it has over 50 mutineers and is the top blog in India. Over 75 per cent of it’s readers are based in India. Almost 100 per cent is India centric content. Certainly not a “brown-is-the-new-black-clique-lovefest” it was accused of  being”named after” by a wannabe.

I hope someone in Nasa’s HR has a good look at Abhisek Tripathi’s mental health. I’ve heard they could get pretty dangerous. I’ll make sure to drop each and every one of them an email.
