KM Mathew has passed away today. I was fortunate to have spent a few years in college with his grandchildren and got to know his family well. I had read and heard a lot about him, seeing him once or twice in Kottayam. Never actually spoke to him. My first gift to my wife was his book, “Ponamma”. A sad day for every Malayalee.
